CANONICITY

Canonicity vividly describes the divine inspiration that produced the Bible. As the revelation of God the Bible is the most widely read, the most influential, and the most enduring book ever published. Canonicity answers many perplexing questions: How was the Bible preserved through the centuries? Is the Apocrypha actually a part of the Word? What about the Dead Sea Scrolls? For the student of Bible doctrine, a knowledge of the historical formation of the Word of God is a source of strength to defend against the numerous attacks upon the authenticity and authority of the Bible.
