FOR THE PARENTS:
TEACHING TIPS
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is the real teacher of God's Word.
God mandates you to study and learn Bible doctrine. With doctrine in your soul, you are the best teacher in the world for your children. From your own frame of reference and personal approach, you can then fulfill your responsibility to teach your children the Word of God.
Teach your children Bible doctrine the way you teach them to ride a bike, to wash their hands, to eat properly at the table, to write their name. Teach them over and over, check them. Make it a part of their everyday lives, and most of all, make it enjoyable. Tell stories, sing songs, play games, and use their everyday surroundings and activities to engage them in learning.
Full responsibility is placed on the parent/teacher to study and learn Bible doctrine and use her or her own doctrinal frame of reference, personality, and approach to teach the Word of God.
Show in your own life the application of the Bible doctrine you teach your children.
Do whatever it takes to make the doctrines come alive for your children.
Never take the salvation of your children for granted.
Never bore your children with the Word of God.
Bible doctrine as a way of life is the most valuable heritage we can give our children.
